Applications are now open for our annual scholarship program. Eligible Zomi students can apply for financial assistance for the upcoming academic year. The program aims to support Zomi youth in pursuing higher education and achieving their academic goals.
This year, we will be awarding scholarships in various categories, including academic excellence, community leadership, and financial need. Applications will be reviewed by a committee of community volunteers.
We are excited to announce the completion of our community center renovation project. The improved facilities will better serve our growing community. The renovation project, which began in January, included updates to the main hall, classrooms, kitchen, and restrooms.
The renovated community center now features improved accessibility, upgraded technology, and a dedicated cultural museum space to preserve and showcase Zomi artifacts and history.
We have established a new partnership with a local health clinic to provide better healthcare access and resources for our community members. This partnership will include regular health screenings, educational workshops, and culturally sensitive healthcare services.
The partnership aims to address the unique healthcare needs of the Zomi community and reduce barriers to healthcare access such as language and cultural differences.
We are excited to announce the launch of a new traditional music workshop series starting next month. The workshops will be led by experienced musicians from our community and will focus on teaching traditional Zomi instruments and songs to participants of all ages.
The workshop series is part of our ongoing efforts to preserve and promote Zomi cultural heritage among community members, especially the younger generation.
Our youth leadership program is expanding this year to include more participants and additional activities. The program, which aims to develop leadership skills and community involvement among Zomi youth, will now include mentorship opportunities, community service projects, and skill-building workshops.
The expanded program will run throughout the summer months and is open to Zomi youth ages 13-21. Registration will open next week.
